Teaching

I love teaching! I teach workshops, courses and private lessons.

My teaching focus is handbuilding techniques, tableware-specific techniques, and supporting people to create and realise their own designs, giving technical and aesthetic guidance.

I am not currently in a position to teach at my own studio (it’s too small!) But do get in touch if you run a studio (UK or International) and would like to discuss arranging a workshop.

In September 2025 I will be back at the wonderful La Meridiana International School of Ceramics in Tuscany, teaching the workshop: Handbuilt Tableware (an introduction to handbuilding techniques).

TESTIMONIALS

“Lisa was patient, thoughtful and thorough.”

“It was obvious from the moment I met Lisa that she was “all in” with enthusiasm and talent for both ceramics and teaching. That set the tone for a very rewarding and productive week. Lisa’s approach to her art and the act of creating invited me to feel into the process and touch into places far deeper than just the clay itself. This class and Lisa in particular was a huge gift at this moment in my life. I highly recommend any class Lisa offers!”

“It was great to get a general overview and then get individual help/critique once we were in making mode.”

I appreciated that Lisa was generous in offering her techniques and shared her preferences but was open minded to other ideas. She was incredibly gracious and kind hearted with all class members.”

“I learned so much and enjoyed your instruction and encouragement.”

“Plenty of demos, good explanations, plenty of 121 coaching time for everyone.”

“Lisa is an excellent teacher. She is extremely thorough when giving information, great at balancing explanations with demonstrations, and she is extremely patient. She has a lovely sense of humour and is respectful and encouraging.”

“My expectations were exceeded.”

“I would take another course with Lisa any day, with immense pleasure!  She was an absolute joy to be with!”

“Overall 10/10.”
